Enterprise Connection Network
Secured enterprise connectivity for internal/private systems
This model uses MeinGPT Bridge – a secured reverse proxy tunnel that requires no inbound firewall rules – to reach internal/private systems. Your systems establish the connection outward to the MeinGPT Cloud, so no port needs to be opened in your firewall. An Outpost in your network connects the internal systems; this is part of the services preview, which our Enterprise team enables for your workspace (see Outposts); the full mechanism, including multi-location operation and encryption, is described under Enterprise Connection.
Best fit when
- systems are not publicly reachable
- higher security requirements apply
- centrally controlled network paths are required
Forward proxies
Outpost uses the operating system's proxy configuration, including proxy rules
distributed through Windows Group Policy, PAC and WPAD, for both pairing and the
persistent Bridge connection. HTTP and HTTPS forward proxies are reached through
an HTTP CONNECT tunnel; SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 routes are supported as well.
Forward proxies that require authentication — including interactive, NTLM or Kerberos challenges — are not yet supported by the persistent Bridge connection. In that case, allow direct outbound HTTPS/WSS access to the Bridge host shown by Outpost's Connection Doctor. No inbound firewall rule is required.
