Google Workspace
Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive
The Google Workspace integration lets you work with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive directly from meinGPT: read and write emails, manage events, and search files in Drive.
Gmail, Calendar, and Drive are separate connectors. You activate exactly the ones you need in your assistant.
Overview
Execution runs in user context: tool calls use the permissions of the authenticated user. This ensures assistants only access data the current user is allowed to see.
Google Workspace is Google's integrated suite of cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools. With the meinGPT integration, you can:
Gmail:
- List and read emails
- Search emails by various criteria (sender, subject, content)
- Access message details and content
- Filter emails by labels
- Create and edit drafts, send and delete emails
Write actions in Gmail (sending, deleting) require elevated write permissions. The first time, this may require re-authenticating with your Google account.
Google Calendar:
- List available calendars and their details
- View calendar events for any date range
- Get detailed information about specific events
- View meeting attendees and details
- Create, update, and cancel events
- Invite attendees (this sends notifications)
Google Drive (read-only):
- List, filter, and sort files
- Search files by text and file type
- Retrieve file metadata
- Load selected files into the chat
Setup
The Google Workspace integration uses OAuth authentication, so no manual API key configuration is required.
Steps to activate:
- Activate tools: Select the Google tools you need in your assistant (Gmail, Google Calendar, and/or Google Drive)
- Authentication: On first use, you'll be automatically redirected to Google
- Select account: Choose the Google account you want to access
- Confirm permissions: Review and accept the requested permissions (depending on the activated tool):
- Read Gmail messages (for sending and managing: elevated write permissions)
- View and manage calendars and events
- Read Google Drive files
- Done: After successful authentication, you can start working with Google Workspace immediately
