Project management and issue tracking with Linear in MeinGPT

The Linear integration allows you to access your Linear projects, create and manage issues, and optimize your workflow directly from MeinGPT.

This integration is based on the official Linear MCP server.

Overview

Linear is a modern issue tracking and project management tool known for its speed and user-friendliness. With the MeinGPT integration, you can:

  • Create, search, and update issues
  • Manage projects and teams
  • Automate workflows
  • Track project progress

Setup

The Linear integration uses OAuth – you don't need to create an API token manually.

Enable the connector: Select Linear among the connectors in the assistant editor and save the assistant — or enable Linear directly in a chat via the "+" menu.

Connect: Under "Connections" (or on the first tool call in the chat), click "Connect". A Linear window opens for authorization.

Confirm access: Review and confirm the requested permissions for your Linear account.

Done: After authorization, Linear shows as connected under "Connections" and is available in the chat.

Note

The connection is per user: each person clicks "Connect" once so tool calls run with their own Linear permissions.

Creating Issues

Create new issues with detailed descriptions, priorities, and assignments:

Permissions

  • Access uses OAuth in the context of your Linear account – tool calls run with your own workspace and team permissions
  • Read operations (searching and viewing issues and projects) and write operations (creating and updating issues) both work over the same connection; which of them actually succeed depends on your role in the given Linear workspace
  • If you confirm fewer permissions than requested when connecting, the corresponding functions are unavailable

Limitations

  • Access only to workspaces you have permissions for
  • Certain administrative functions may be restricted
  • Rate limits according to your Linear plan

Privacy and Security

  • Authentication is secure via OAuth 2.0
  • MeinGPT doesn't store Linear credentials
  • All data is transmitted encrypted
  • You can revoke the connection at any time in your Linear settings
