Connect WebDAV as a knowledge source
Synchronize files from WebDAV into a controlled cloud data space and search them from assistants.
WebDAV is a knowledge source in meinGPT, not an action connector. Selected files synchronize from a WebDAV server into a cloud data space so chats and assistants can search the approved content semantically.
An administrator enters the server URL, vendor, credentials and an optional base folder. The first run imports files below that path; later runs synchronize changes incrementally. The source is currently available in the Cloud Vault.
- Source
- WebDAV
- Capability
- Synchronize, index and search files as a knowledge source
- Connection
- Username and password or bearer token; optionally limited to a base folder

Source, permissions, and data residency are documented separately for each connector.
Typical workflows
- Search documents
- Summarize collections
- Make changes searchable
What the integration makes possible
01
Search documents
Ask questions across approved files and use relevant passages as context.
02
Summarize collections
Condense content from several files into one compact overview.
03
Make changes searchable
Bring new and changed files into the data space on later synchronization runs.
Review the prompt and result openly
Summarize the current travel expense rules from the approved WebDAV folder and name the source files.
Result
The policy distinguishes rail, hotel and meal expenses. Sources are travel-expenses-2026.pdf and approval-process.md.
Does this connection fit your use case?
We clarify the source, permissions, and connection required for the concrete use case. If the existing integration fits, you can move straight to setup afterwards.
Security and operations
Use a dedicated, preferably read-only account and a narrow base folder. Access to the resulting data space is managed separately in meinGPT.
Known limitations
- 01WebDAV supplies knowledge for search; the explorer cannot modify files in the source system.
Frequently asked questions
No. WebDAV is currently a Cloud Vault source and is configured without a dedicated Outpost.
