Data paths and model processing at meinGPT.

Not every function uses the same path. This page explains the role of the meinGPT platform, when data are stored and where an approved AI model is involved.

Platform operations and model processing are separate paths.

The meinGPT platform receives a request in the workspace, checks the intended context and provides the required platform functions. Data stored in the platform or data layer reside on the Hetzner infrastructure operated for this purpose in Germany.

An external model provider may also be involved in the actual model processing. The approved model path determines which provider is contacted, where processing takes place and which retention terms apply. We therefore assess platform location and model processing separately.

Platform and data layer

SelectCode operates the meinGPT platform and data layer on Hetzner infrastructure in German data centers. This is where workspace, chat and document data are stored.

Approved model paths

Users choose from the models available in their workspace. Each model path has a specific provider, processing region and retention terms; these are distinct from the platform location.

Internal data and systems

A use case accesses internal systems only through a configured connection. With Outpost, original files and the search index remain on the local network, while release levels define what may leave it.

Important context

German platform hosting does not automatically mean that every model request is processed in Germany. The approved model path is what matters.
