(Senior) Product Engineer (f/m/d)

EngineeringFull timeUnterhaching / Munich or Berlin40 hrs/weekEUR 60,000 – 90,000

We've hit Product-Market Fit. MeinGPT already serves 50,000+ users across 500+ companies — not as a generic AI tool, but as the AI use case platform for the Mittelstand. Your mission: build the features that close the gap between companies having access to AI and companies actually running their core work on it.

Our Mission

Our mission with MeinGPT: be the AI use case platform for the Mittelstand — the platform that gets companies from their first AI experiment to AI that runs their actual work.

Access to AI is no longer the bottleneck. Companies can spin up a chat interface in hours. Real value goes beyond just a chat: an AI that learns from you, is proactive, and actually supports day-to-day work, not just rephrasing text. As a product engineer, it's your job to close the gap from a collection of features to a well-rounded, cohesive product experience.

Our product engineering challenges for 2026:

  • AI Buddy: Most people don't know where to start with AI, and a feature list doesn't help. The Buddy takes a different approach: it has a conversation with each user about their work, finds where AI could actually make a difference for them specifically, and guides them to their first real use case. The challenge: building an interaction model that gets honest, specific answers from someone who's never thought about AI before, and turns those answers into something they can actually use.
  • Self-service onboarding: We're building the path from first login to a working AI assistant for an entire team in under an hour: templates, connectors, guided setup that walks a non-technical admin through everything they need. The faster a customer finds their first real use case, the faster they expand.
  • An AI that knows you: Nobody wants to re-explain their role, their context, and their way of working at the start of every new chat. After a few weeks on MeinGPT, it should just know: your job, your recurring projects, how you like things written. Building the memory layer for that is tractable. What's harder: how do you let someone see what the AI has learned about them, and correct it if it's wrong, without it feeling like a surveillance dashboard?

Your Mission

You're building interaction models that don't have a playbook yet. How should AI features work for someone who's never used AI in a work context before? How do you make AI capabilities discoverable for someone who doesn't know what's possible? How do you guide a team from "we have access to AI" to "this is actually part of how we work"? Our customers aren't early AI adopters. They're the admin at a manufacturing company who ran 19 training sessions last month because the person supposed to run them quit. These are real, open questions. Answering them is the job.

You work closely with our product designer, sometimes co-designing from scratch, sometimes driving a feature end-to-end yourself. Either way, the user experience is your responsibility, not a handover. The measure isn't whether the feature works. It's whether that admin can find it, understand it, and reach their goal without anyone explaining it to them.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years building full-stack features in production: React and TypeScript on the frontend, backend logic and data modeling on the other end. You own the whole feature, not just the UI layer.
  • You own the entire user experience of a feature, not just the code diff: information architecture, user flow, copy, and error states are part of the implementation, not someone else's job.
  • You think from the customer's perspective: does this actually solve the problem? Can they find it? Can they use it without being shown how? And you act on the answer.
  • Attention to detail that's active, not occasional: you notice the misaligned spacing, the missing loading state, the confusing copy. Fixing it is just part of how you work.
  • You share what you know (context, tradeoffs, open questions) and make the engineers around you better at their work.

What's in it for You

  • Shape the AI use case platform for the Mittelstand at its most critical growth phase: product decisions that matter, cutting-edge AI integration, and real end-to-end ownership.
  • Directly shape the product and its architecture during our critical 4M → 10M ARR growth phase. Your work will be used by thousands of users from day one.
  • Flexible working hours with the option to work from home 2 days per week.
  • Further perks like access to 10,000+ sports facilities with the EGYM Wellpass, a €1,000 annual learning budget, and the Deutschlandticket.
