# AI Models & Providers

The meinGPT platform provides you access to a wide range of AI models from various providers. These providers are located in different regions and are subject to different data protection regulations.

## Important Notes

### Data Protection Compliance

**GDPR Compliance**: All EU providers process data exclusively within the European Union and are subject to GDPR.

**US Providers**: When using US providers, data is processed in the United States. All US providers are certified under the Data Privacy Framework and offer an adequate level of data protection.

## Image models and hosting region

Image models have two relevant layers: the **maker** (who trained the model) and the **hosting provider** (who runs it operationally). This table is the reference for compliance decisions.

**Notes on the table:**

- **EU-only:** All FLUX models, GPT Image 2, and Gemini 2.5 Flash Image run exclusively in EU regions.
- **Maker ≠ host:** FLUX.2 Pro and FLUX.2 Flex come from Black Forest Labs but run through our Microsoft Azure tenant (France). The other FLUX models run directly at Black Forest Labs.
- **GPT Image 2** is the only OpenAI image model with EU hosting. The other GPT Image variants run Global. All GPT Image models are served via Microsoft Azure.
- **Global:** Models in this region may be processed in different regions depending on provider load.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Which models are automatically available?
All selected models are automatically made available in the meinGPT platform. The required providers are automatically activated.

### What happens when I deselect a model?
The model will be deactivated, but other models from the same provider remain available if they are selected.

### Can I add more models later?
Yes, you can expand or adjust your model selection at any time.
