# Google Drive

## Set up in meinGPT

Open **Settings → Data sources**, click **Add data source**, and choose Google Drive.

meinGPT opens a Google sign-in window through its own, already-registered
meinGPT application — you don't need a Google Cloud project of your own,
and nothing to enable. It asks for **read access to Google Drive only**.

After sign-in, meinGPT shows a folder picker rooted at **My Drive** —
folders in shared drives appear inside it too. Pick the folder meinGPT
should make searchable.

meinGPT saves the connection and starts the first sync.

Google Drive runs as a Cloud data source; it needs no Outpost of your own, and this source type is not available for on-premise Outpost deployments.

## Synchronization

- meinGPT reads the chosen folder, including subfolders.
- Later runs only process changed files.
- To pick a different folder or scope, reconnect the source.
